About the Music Club
Norfolk & Norwich Music Club (Reg. Charity No.278446) promotes an annual series of classical chamber music concerts under the title Norfolk & Norwich Chamber Music.
The Club was founded in 1951 and is currently in its 60th Season. Details of its concerts in the past 60 years are available through the Archive page.
The Officers and Committee are elected annually and for the current year are:
- Chairman: Hilary Battye
- Treasurer: Tony Barton, 49 Branford Road, Norwich NR3 4QD
- Secretary & Programme Organiser: Roger Rowe MBE, 60 Park Lane, Norwich NR2 3EF
- Membership Secretary: Angela Skeggs, 2 Church Street, Old Catton, Norwich NR6 7DS
- Asst Secretary: Sarah Goldser
- Making Music Representative: Michael Fowler
- Committee Members: Philip Browning, Susan Jack, Ian Gillespie, David Wiggins
The club receives grants from Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Music Fund. The club also acknowledges generous assistance from the Ernest Cook Foundation, D'Oyley Carte Trust, East of England Co-Operative Society, and Chivers Trust, as well as donations from many private individuals.
The club is a member of Making Music, which supports UK amateur performing and promoting societies.
