Members of the Simón Bolívar Quartet are leaders of the string sections of the world-famous Venezuelan orchestra, who are visiting Norwich as part of the ‘In Harmony’ project based on the highly successful Venezuela El Sistema. Their programme includes a piece specially written for string quartet by the Spanish singer and songwriter Javier Alvarez.

To celebrate the Norfolk & Norwich Music Club’s 60th anniversary season, the distinguished French pianist François-Frédéric Guy has been invited to perform the complete cycle of Beethoven Sonatas. Although the majority of these concerts will take place at the John Innes Centre, there will be two lunchtime recitals at the Assembly House.

Seats are not designated at the John Innes Centre. Season ticket-holders are guaranteed seats provided that they are seated five minutes before the performance. Admission to the hall will be restricted to 30 minutes before the start of each concert to allow for rehearsals and piano tuning. Members are entitled to tickets at a reduced rate and have priority booking until 23 August 2010, but are not guaranteed seats unless they are pre-booked.

Norfolk & Norwich Music Club • 60th Season
The club currently receives no grant from the Arts Council or local authorities but is grateful to donations from members and private individuals, including generous anonymous donations for the Guarneri Trio and Borodin Quartet weekends during the 2009/2010 season.
