EDUCATION

The Club is actively involved in giving students of all ages the experience of listening to and talking to international chamber music players. The Formosa, Wihan and St Petersburg Quartets have all played in local schools and each year there is a specific programme designed for junior schools details of the 2008 project are set out below. Finance for these projects come from the Club's Development Fund, supported by members and local charities and trusts.

JUNIOR SCHOOLS PROJECT 27th-29th FEBRUARY 2008
This project is designed to give young children the experience of a live chamber music concert by classical musicians in an established concert venue away from the school. It will be preceded by workshops in each of the schools by the professional musicians (see time table attached) to introduce themselves, their instruments and the music that they will be playing.

The project is planned in conjunction with Heads and Music Teachers of 8 local First and Primary Schools - timetable attached - and will involve a London group of professional musicians known as Chroma, who will visit each school for workshop sessions, introducing themselves and their instruments. This will be followed by a free school concert at the John Innes Centre. The musicians will work with over 600 children in their respective schools and 350 will attend the special concert. After the concert the Heads of each school will receive assessment forms for future performance and these will be available for inspection if required.
The schools involved will be:-

Larkman Primary,
West Earlham Jumior
Bignold Primary
Recreation Rd Infants
Cringleford VA First
Little Melton Primary

FUTURE PROJECTS
It is intended that this work will be continued on an annual basis funded from the Club's own Development resources with the assistance of donations from local trusts.
